A blander diet consisting of foods like bananas, rice, applesauce, crackers, and baked potatoes may alleviate nausea and reduce the likelihood of an upset stomach. Include protein in your diet: Protein-rich meals may combat nausea more effectively than fat- or carbohydrate-rich meals (45).
