The chain announced last week that it has discontinued the 99p ice cream desserts flavored with strawberry or toffee sauce because they are not “popular” enough.5 People are upset that McDonald’s has removed the Toffee and Strawberry Sundaes from its menu.
Customers vented their anger on social media over the decision to remove sundaes from the menu. “The Toffee Sundae and Strawberry Sundae were removed from the McDonald’s menu on Wednesday, September 2018 because they were not very popular,” a McDonald’s spokesman tweeted in response to a fast food customer’s outrage.

But fast food fans on social media don’t seem to care that the sundaes were unhealthy and are angry that they no longer have the option to purchase one.
A McDonald’s representative stated, “The removal of Sundaes from our menu makes room for the mini McFlurry and customer favorites like the Smarties McFlurry, which have proven to be extremely popular.” McDonald’s announced in June that it would discontinue the treats, but their removal from the menu this week has shocked customers.
